Free and Open Source Software for Businesses

Description:  Software and website development can be among the largest expenses for a small business, but what most starts-ups don't realize is that most of the software they need is available completely for free.

Business owners and managers attending this session will be provided with access to free and powerful open source software from a variety of companies and sources that will allow them to create websites, write text documents, develop spreadsheets, edit images, and create brochures and presentations safely and legally using the same free and open source software currently used by thousands of U.S. Schools and Government Agencies.

Attendees will also be provided with free access to a series of online WordPress web development courses that are normally limited to access by Mobius Network paid clients.

Presenter Bio:  Bob Hollis

Bob Hollis has successfully launched his own businesses twice in different fields starting with nothing but an idea and within three years developed both businesses into recognized national leaders in their target markets.  Bob currently serves as Founder and Principal of The Mobius Network, a technology services provider that serves individuals and organizations with a public benefit mission. He has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies over the last twenty years and his current clients include environmental groups, non-profits, public agencies, and Grammy Award winning musicians.  He has served on the boards of the California Resource Recovery Association, the National Recycling Coalition, and the U.S. Zero Waste Business Council, and has served as an elected public official in El Dorado Hills, CA.

Bob's educational background includes a B.S in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University with a focus on Marketing and Management Information Systems, Graduate studies in Business to Business Marketing at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Graduate Studies in Environmental Management at Harvard University, and Continuing Studies in Web and Social Media Technologies at Stanford University.
