Nationally, childhood obesity rates have continued to rise, even while communities across the country, including Chicago, have implemented a broad range of evidence-based strategies across all levels of social ecology. In 2018, in place of large quarterly meetings, CLOCC has convened smaller, strategic meetings to focus on the social determinants of childhood obesity. The September meeting will continue this approach.
On September 19th, join CLOCC staff and partners as we explore the connections between housing and obesity. We invite organizations focused on or interested in the connections between nutrition, physical activity, and housing to join us as we explore the potential mechanisms through which housing affects children’s ability to eat healthy and be physically active, and how obesity and related chronic diseases in adulthood can affect housing security for families. We will identify potential solutions and opportunities for collaboration.
If you are unsure if this meeting is appropriate for you or your organization, feel free to contact CLOCC staff at info@clocc.net, or Eric Goodwin at (312) 227-7043.
Date: Wednesday, September 19th
