Thursday, July 7 - Grant Webinar Workshop for our Individual Artist grant programs

Join SW MN Arts Council online for a grant workshop webinar on Thursday, July 7 from Noon-12 pm to learn about the guidelines, requirements, and application process for our Individual Artist grants, including:

  • NEW! Artist Growth grants provide up to $4,000 to artists at any career stage for projects that will advance their skills and artistic career. Next application deadline: August 17, 2022 with an earliest project start date of October 1, 2022. Deadline to request SMAC staff review the application before submission is August 3, 2022.
  • Artist Equity grants provide up to $4,000 to aid Black, Indigenous, and other other artists of color at any career stage with projects that will advance their skills and artistic career. Application deadlines: 1st of the Month, August 2022-May 2023 by 4:30 pm with earliest project start date the 1st of the following month. Deadline to request SMAC staff to review the application before submission is one week before the application deadline.
  • Quick Support for Individual Artist grants provide artists with up to $1,000 for activities such as purchasing supplies, attending classes, and small artist-led community projects. Application deadlines: 1st of the Month, August 2022-May 2023 by 4:30 pm with earliest project start date the 1st of the following month. Deadline to request SMAC staff to review the application before submission is one week before the application deadline.
  • NEW! Advanced Artist Fellowship provides up to $7,000 in project funds to established advanced artists who exhibit creative excellence, a substantial body of work, and significant recognition of their artistic accomplsihments. Two fellowships awarded per year. One deadline per year: October 19, 2022 by 4:30 pm with an earliest project start date of December 1, 2022. Deadline to request SMAC staff to review application before submission is October 5, 2022.

Provides up

fto $500 to allow young artists in grades 5-12 to attend
an enrichment camp or specialty study.  Costs for standard weekly lessons are allowed for students who qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program.  Arts supplies costs are allowed for students attending a MN public arts high school. No match requirements.
