Massage Ethics: Navigating the Waters (see below)
It is no secret that many clients have been harmed by touch which imposed pain on them. It is also true that to deliver deeper pressure, many therapists end up injuring themselves. This mindful approach delivers intelligent touch into a client’s intelligent system- allowing their nervous system to reorganize around it. It includes an in-depth exploration of the current science of pain, research demonstrating the power of the therapeutic relationship, an emphasis on body mechanics and ergonomics and performing deeper, specific work without harming yourself or the client.

This highly interactive workshop openly explores ethical issues that massage therapists routinely face in their professional and personal lives. Through a dynamic mix of lectures, discussions, small group exercises, and self assessments, students will explore an array of topics.

- managing communication skills
- establishing and communicating boundaries
- navigating transference and countertransference
- incorporating self-care and strategies to avoid burnout

About the instructor
Eric Stephenson, LMT, NCTMB
Eric creates continuing education focused on career longevity for massage schools, spas and professional organizations, specializing in teaching Deep Tissue Massage that doesn't harm the therapist or the client. All of his workshops focus on saving your hands with his "No Thumbs!" approach & Core Body Mechanics that help prolong your career. Eric works with some of the most respected names in the wellness industry throughout the US, Canada, Asia and the Caribbean including Sandals Resorts, Elements Massage, the Wynn/Encore Las Vegas and Kamalaya Thailand.
His presentations have included the American Massage Therapy National Convention, The International Spa Association Conference, The World Massage Conference, Esthetique Spa International Shows and AMTA state conventions. Eric is a regular contributor to Massage Magazine.
Eric serves as Chief Wellness Officer for Elements Massage, one of the largest massage providers in the country headquartered in Denver, CO. In addition, he is a member of the International Spa Association (ISPA) Board of Directors in Lexington, KY.

Payment and Refund Policy: Registrations for workshops are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. You may register with a full payment – OR – a minimum 50% deposit (when registering by phone). The remaining amount is due 14 days prior to the workshop. You may cancel your registration up until seven days prior and receive a full refund of any monies paid, less a $25 processing fee. Any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to workshop will not be refunded or credited.
Discounts: The $399 + Free Ethics are the two discounts being offered. If you would like to bring a group and receive a multi-person discount for 3 or more people, email us for options.
