We Are There...and What Can We Do? 

As of today, Connecticut's budget is still in flux and creating uncertainty in a number of sectors.  To address these concerns, join our knowledgeable panel as they share insights into how not having a balanced budget is impacting the economy, education, and municipalities.  

 Panelists

  • Fred Carstensen – Professor of Finance and Economics and Director, Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis, University of Connecticut. Prof. Carstensen has provided legislative testimony on a variety of economic issues facing the state, its regions, and municipalities.
  • Michael Imber – Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Public Sector Service group in New York. Mr. Imber has extensive municipal Chapter 9 bankruptcy experience, with over 25 years’ experience in counseling clients on bankruptcies, workouts and municipal consulting assignments.
  • Dr. Maria Martha Chavez Brumell – Chief Executive Officer for Catch the Next, Inc., a college readiness and completion organization. Dr. Chavez-Brummel is a sociologist with a history of researching, implementing, and evaluating social policy.
