About the Event

Friendswood Fine Arts/FFAI presents Art in the Park Outdoor Art & Music Festival, under the direction of founding members Sangie Gardiner and Sara Peters. Art in the Park was the first art festival in Friendswood, Texas and still continues to be the largest and most successfully-run event of its kind in the area.  AITP has become the Friendswood area's premier festival for artists, working each year to improve the experience for both our artists and patrons.

Here are a few of the Art in the Park perks:

PARTICIPATION IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

Friendswood Fine Arts is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. This means that your participation in Art in the Park, or any FFAI sponsored event, is TAX DEDUCTABLE! That's right! Your participation fees qualify as deductions on your 2014 taxes!

 ARTIST HOSPITALITY!

Artists participating in Art in the Park 2013 will receive festival perks including complimentary breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings! We also invite you to join us for our AITP Meet & Greet scheduled the Friday evening before the Festival. We'll meet adjacent to the park at the Chamber of Commerce outdoor patio for drinks, small bites sponsored by Jason's Deli, and great music as we enjoy sounds from that evenings Concert in the Park performance. During the Festival hours we are just a text away if you should us. We have volunteers ready to stand in for a moment if you should need to step away from your booth.

ALL ACTIVITIES ARE FREE TO THE PUBLIC!

Thanks to our generous sponsors, all art activities at AITP are presented free to the public. This feature boosts public attendance and encourages art sales! The goal of this event is to help bring your work to the community, which was why we first developed Art in the Park in 2010.

ALL PROCEEDS GO BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY!

Friendswood Fine Arts is a completely volunteer run nonprofit, which allows all proceeds from our events are recycled back into the community through creativity-based events and volunteer work. Your participation means that we can continue to promote the arts in and around our community for years to come.

PUBLIC JURIED EVENT

Art in the Park is not your typical judge-juried art festival. Artists are juried by the community and their peers. Visitors to the Festival will vote for their favorite artist. The winner is named as the Favorite Artist of that festival and named Featured Artist for the following years event. As reining "Featured Artist", they will be included on event marketing and promotional items, with web and social media mention for next 12 months. The winning artist is also invited back for the following year as our guest.

2 DAY FESTIVAL!

You're already unpacked, why not stay for another day? This year we are pleased to announce that Art in the Park will be a 2 day event!  We were overwhelmed by the artist and community's request for a second day, so we made it happen! We now have 2 full days of exciting music and art demonstrations!

OVERNIGHT SECURITY

OVERNIGHT SECURITY WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THE CLOSING HOURS BETWEEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNING.

  and surrounding communities.

FFAI/Friendswood Fine Arts is a registered 501©3 nonprofit organization, dedicated to “Promoting Community Creativity & Artist Opportunity".

We believe that the best way to do this is by presenting fun and exciting events free to the community, to encourage continued interests in the arts, regardless of income or current economic stresses.

“This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in
