   1:00 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.  Keynote Speech by Jim Dunn, PhD

“Conceptualizing the Links Between Housing & Health: Housing as A Multi-Attribute Phenomenon”

Dr. Dunn is the William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Chair in Canadian Studies at Harvard University for 2011-12, where he holds visiting appointments in the Harvard School of Public Health and the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Aging and Society at McMaster University and a Scientist at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.  He holds a Chair in Applied Public Health from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Public Health Agency of Canada on ‘Interventions in Residential Neighborhoods and Population Health’. Dr. Dunn advises multiple policy-related organizations including the National Housing Research Committee of Canada and the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. His current research program focuses on the social determinants of health and the influence of economic and social policies and programs on inequalities in health and child development, concentrating on urban housing and neighborhoods.
