Trends in health care will be the focus of the April 9 lunchone

James K. Reed, M.D., President and CEO of St. Peter’s Health Partners, will address the Albany Roundtable on Wednesday, April 9. Albany Roundtable luncheon meetings are held at the National Register-listed University Club, 141 Washington Avenue at Dove Street in Albany, and are open to the public.

St. Peter’s Health Partners which was created on October 1, 2011 by the merger of Northeast Health, St. Peter’s Health Care Services and Seton Health. This unique merger combined three successful health systems and included both Catholic-sponsored and secular components. The merger created the region’s largest and most comprehensive not-for-profit network of high-quality, advanced medical care, primary care, rehabilitation and senior services. St. Peter’s Health Partners has approximately 12,500 employees at more than 165 locations in seven counties of northeastern New York, and is the region’s largest private employer with an annual budget of $1.1 billion.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Reed served as President and CEO of Northeast Health, a regional not-for-profit comprehensive health care system providing primary, acute, long-term, residential, rehabilitative, and home care services to people of all ages. Dr. Reed received his undergraduate degree in economics from Amherst College, then attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he received his MBA. After nearly a decade at International Paper and Union Pacific, he attended Cornell University Medical College, and spent nine years as a partner in a private group family practice in Albany. In 1999, he was named Chief Medical Officer of Northeast Health. In 2001, he added the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer, and in 2005, became President and CEO.

The cost for the luncheon is $20, which may be paid at the door. The Roundtable also offers its guests the option of paying in advance with a credit card at www.albanyroundtable.com. The University Club will serve a hot and cold buffet from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., with the program commencing at 12:30. Reservations for the April 9 luncheon are required by Monday, April 7 and may be made by prepaying online, by calling 518-431-1400 (the Albany Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce) or by sending an e-mail to albanyroundtable@yahoo.com
