Please join us for the 2017 Michigan Rural Health Conference May 4-5, 2017 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
The theme of this year’s conference is, "Refresh, Renew, Refocus." Participants will gain new knowledge of timely and effective methods to enhance their organization. Whether it's concentrating on improving clinical quality, leadership, managing staff, or focusing on patient satisfaction, participants will have the opportunity to learn from subject matter experts and rural health peers. The conference sessions will feature a variety of informative topics such as a federal update on rural health issues, MACRA and MIPS, chronic care management, team approach to oral healthcare, HIPAA cyber security, health professional shortage area updates, community paramedicine and children’s mental health, as well as several other valuable presentations.
Who Should Attend?
This conference is designed to be of interest to a wide range of rural health advocates including community leaders, clinicians, administrators, board members, public health officials, rural health clinics, federally qualified health centers, local health departments and others interested in the development of healthcare in their community.
Speaker Presentations
Speaker presentations will be available one to two days prior to the conference. Visit the Michigan Rural Health Conference website to get the presentations. Please note paper copies will not be available at the conference.
Exhibit Area
The exhibit area offers participants the opportunity to meet a variety of vendors displaying health care industry products and services. Continental breakfast and breaks will be held in the exhibit area to facilitate easy conversation and a relaxed atmosphere for visiting with sponsors and friends.
Rural Health Scholars Reception and Fiesta!
Join us in celebrating the 2017 Rural Health Scholars! These 25 medical students from MSU College of Human Medicine and MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine have displayed an interest and commitment to rural medicine and communities. Come enjoy drinks, snacks, and great conversation with exhibitors, attendees, and our Rural Health Scholars. The reception and fiesta will take place from 5:15PM-6:30PM in the Swan Creek/Saginaw Room on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

All representatives from each organization are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.
Nursing Continuing Education Contact Hours
Nursing continuing education will be offered at this conference. The exact number of hours will be posted once given approval by the Michigan State University College of Nursing. The information will be posted on the conference website. Criteria for successful completion include: sign-in at registration, the provision of an email address, verification of attendance at specific sessions and submission of a completed evaluation form.
