Please join us for our 9th Annual Summit (online!)

Who Should Attend? Parents (of children, youth, and/or young adults with mental health needs), youth and/or young adults who have lived experience with mental health needs, family members, individuals living with mental illness, professionals (including mental health providers), public policy decision makers, community leaders and all others interested in children and youth mental health needs. 

Format of the virtual Summit:

The Summit will be held in a multi-day format and content will include recorded workshops for youth and parents/professionals as well as live programming to provide an opporutnity for networking, connection and further education.  This event is FREE!

Calendar of Events:

April 24th - Recorded workshops will be released on the NAMI Virginia website.  For more information on workshop topics, please go to the website.

April 25th - NAMI Ending the Silence Presentation - Join us for an engaging presentation that helps audience members learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition.  This presentation is for students, parents, and school staff and includes personal testimony and conversations with a young adult living with a mental health condition. 

April 29th at 6:30 PM – Youth and Young Adult Meet-Up – 2020 has changed the way young people have gone to school, seen friends, and celebrated milestones like graduation and prom. Join us for our youth and young adult meet-up for ages 13-29 to come together and connect with other young people to share your challenges and successes with others who have similar experiences to yours. We will also have a fun activity for atendees.

APril 30th @ 8pm - Parent Meet Up - It has been a tough year for families.  During the pandeomic, caregivers have had to navigate changes with school, mental health services as well as personal changes with work and home life.  Sometimes we just need to take a minute and vent about the challenges but also celebrate and share the succeses.  Join other parents who have children with mental health challenges for a special Parent Meet Up to connect, support, and just let it out! 

May 1st 10am-12pm - Live Breakout Sesssions with Workshop Leaders-Don't miss the chance to meet presenters from the recorded workshops and ask follow up questions as well as connect with others. There will be a breakout room assigned to each workshop presenter and participants will have the ability to jump in and out of breakout rooms on their own just like you would for an in person event!

A formal list of recorded workshops and additional information on accessing content will be released prior to April 24th via email to all registrants.
