We envision a caring a healthy community which encourages intergenerational relationships, recognizes the wisdom and experience of its elders, and demonstrates awareness and respect for the aging process.

The Dementia Care Coalition

The Dementia Care Coalition is a group of professionals, community members, and business owners who are all dedicated to a common mission, which is essentially creating a more dementia competent community. Our community formed the Dementia Care Coalition in 2007.

Dementia Care Coalition Mission Statement

We envision a community in which people with dementia and their family members get the right information and care at the right time, where medical clinicians identify memory loss early in the process and make appropriate referrals to supportive services, and where people with dementia and their families can continue to be active and engaged community members. We recognize that Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia are long-term, chronic conditions that do not yet have a specific cure but  need ongoing management.
