ACE Creative Economy Mixer: Peek Into The Past
At the first ACE Creative Economy Mixer of 2021 (and since COVID!), we'll celebrate the unrivaled beauty -- and economic value -- of the Capital Region's rich history. You're the first to be invited inside the stunningly restored UNION NATIONAL BANK space. HBO representatives Bob Shaw, Production Designer at HBO will be joining us. Bob is known for his work on The Irishman (2019), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995). Bob will be joined by Unit Production Manager, Michael Pitt and Location Assistant, Michael Connors. In a breakout session, they will be on hand to discuss why and how "The Gilded Age" production came to Troy in a group led by The Hart Cluett Museum's new Executive Director, Starlyn D'Angelo.
Enjoy food from La Capital Tacos, craft beer from Rare Form Brewing, mingle with costumed characters, all while being serenaded with the deep lounge beat stylings of DJ Pat Diesel. Additionally, members of theCafe Euphoria team, a soon to be downtown Troy destination, will be on hand tabling with their upcoming plans for a trans* worker owned and operated cafe / coworking community space.
After the event we encourage folks to join the ACE Team at Nighthawks (located around the corner at 461 Broadway) for a $10 specialty gilded age cocktail interpreted by Troy's very own Amanda Baker. Reservations strongly encouraged if you plan to drop in for dinner but not necessary.
