The Baltimore National Heritage Area announces
   the 2015
Heritage Investment Grant Cycle
   to open May 19, 2015.

The BNHA Heritage Investment Grant is a source of funding to provide strategic investments in cultural nonprofits within the Baltimore National Heritage Area that promote, preserve, and enhance its cultural, historic, and natural resources. This grant program, made possible through funds from the US Dept. of the Interior, will award non-capital project grants as well as general operating support grants.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations in good standing with the State of Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation and with the legal capacity and authority to incur obligations involved under the grant program. Non-capital grants may not exceed $15,000. Operating grants may not exceed $10,000. All grants must be matched 1:1.

New for the 2015 Heritage Investment Grant cycle:

  • BNHA WILL accept grant applications from schools, libraries, colleges and universities.
  • BNHA WILL NOT accept grant applications from organizations that currently have an open Heritage Investment Grant with the BNHA.
  • BNHA WILL NOT accept grant applications for operating support from organizations that received General Operating Support within the last year from the Heritage Investment Grant program. These organizations are eligible for project support if their previous operating grant is closed by the grant application deadline.

BNHA will host a workshop for interested applicants on Wednesday, June 3rd from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at the Cylburn Arboretum Greenhouse Classroom. We will be debuting our online grant application process!

Attendance at the workshop is mandatory for first-time applicants. Repeat applicants are strongly encouraged to attend to learn about the new online application process.

If you or a representative from the organization cannot attend the workshop, you must discuss your proposal with BNHA Grants Administrator, Paula Hankins prior to the Grant Deadline of July 1, 2015. She may be contacted for a consultation appointment at 410-878-6411 ext. 5 or at phankins@baltimoreheritagearea.org

The Grant Guidelines, Instruction and Application are available via BNHA's website www.explorebaltimore.org.
