Reaching Multicultural Audiences
Multicultural audiences continue to grow in size and influence. For instance, according to the most recent data collected from the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau, the Hispanic population is approaching nearly 50 million in the United States. The Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia projects that U.S. Hispanic purchasing power will reach $1.2 trillion by 2012, nearly three times the growth of the overall national rate. Now more than ever your company and your clients need to clearly target not just Hispanic, but all multicultural communities with key messages that speak directly to these audiences.
In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated from September 15 through October 15, the PRSA Gulf Coast Chapter will host a Lunch N’ Learn on “Reaching Multicultural Audiences.” The presentation will feature the following experts:
- Carmen Rey-Gomez, Director of the Hispanic Institute at Hodges University
- Mayela Rosales, Vice President of Media Vista Group & Executive Editor of D’ Latinos Magazine
- Carlos Zapata, Program Host & News Director, Azteca America D’ Latinos al Dia
The deadline to register is Friday, September 23rd.
Cost: $24 for PRSA members, $29 for non-members and walk-up attendees, $27 for non-profits, $15 for students and PRSSA members.
*No shows will be billed and only cash and checks accepted at the door.
