Granite State College, 25 Hall St, Concord, NHSys & Net Admin Day - Security!
Our second NHCTO Council Net & Sys Admin day is scheduled for Friday, February 16th, 2018. As always this is an event for K-12 network and system administrators and is from 9:00am to 3pm in Concord. Please note our venue has changed and we are now meeting at Granite State College in Concord (different from previous meetings). This event is free for all NH districts.
The topic of the day will be Security.
Morning Topic:
In the morning, we will have a presentation form Daniel Dister, CISSP. Daniel is the Chief Information Security Officer for the NH Department of IT. Daniel will discuss what state resources are available to schools, the New Hampshire Cyber Integration Center and the current threat landscape.
Lunch will be provided by Barkly (https://www.barkly.com/). Barley has a unique approach to preventingmalware attacks which they will share with the group.
Afternoon Topic:
In the afternoon, we will have discussions & presentations about the SANS institute, hear from a school which sustained a significant & sustained DDOS attacks this fall and discuss preventative phishing & penetration testing.
As always it should be a lively group discussion!
