Daniel Pruitt has been professionally involved in glass fusing for the past twelve years. He holds a BS in Art Education and an MFA from Kent State University and taught for twenty-one years at North Olmsted High School in the Art Department. His students have created several large fused glass pieces permanently installed in the North Olmsted High School and the public library of North Olmsted in the Teen room.
He studied with Rene Culler from CIA and in 2003 was invited to present at the Bullseye Glass Company’s 1st Annual BeCon International Educator’s Conference in Portland, Oregon. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries including the Cleveland Museum of Art and is held in private collections. He was recently awarded Teacher of the Year 2010 for the North Olmsted City Schools.
Dan’s article The Three Keys to Successful Grant Writing Revealed was published in the January 2011 issue of “Glass…craftsman”.
He teaches fusing pendant workshops , glass fusing courses through the Cleveland Institute of Art and exhibits in outdoor summer art festivals including Cain Park and Tremont . All workshops and classes are held at his studio in the Lake Erie Screw Building in Lakewood, Ohio.
