Please join us for a valuable 2 credit NJ CLE seminar.  

The first seminar (1 hour, 1 NJ CLE credit) will be on Top 10 Land Use Cases of 2015.  Steve Warner, Esq. of Ventura Miesowitz Keough & Warner PC in Summit, and Richard Schkolnick, Esq. of Brown Moskowitz & Kallen, PC in Millburn, will be recapping the most significant zoning and land use cases of the last year.  

Steven K. Warner is a Shareholder in the law firm of Ventura, Miesowitz, Keough & Warner, P.C. in Summit, New Jersey.  His practice encompasses all facets of zoning and land use law, primarily focusing on the representation of municipal land use boards. He currently represents several municipal land use boards in Somerset, Union and Morris County.  Mr. Warner has been recognized as a New Jersey SuperLawyer annually since 2011. He is a member of the American, New Jersey State (NJSBA), Union County and Somerset County Bar Associations (SCBA), and the Bar Association of the City of Summit.  He is a Director of the Land Use Law Section and an active member of the Judicial Administration, Equity Jurisprudence and Business and Commercial Litigation Committees of the NJSBA, and a Trustee of the SCBA and the Co-Chair of its Continuing Legal Education Committee.  Mr. Warner also is an Associate Counsel for the New Jersey Planning Officials (NJPO) and through the NJPO he regularly teaches the certification course for new land use board members, as required by the Municipal Land Use Law. He is a frequent lecturer for ICLE and the NJSBA and has published articles for The New Jersey Lawyer Magazine. Mr. Warner received his B.A., cum laude, from Clark University and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

Richard Schkolnick has extensive experience providing solutions to property owners in complex land use and zoning matters and related litigation.  Richard has led development teams that have secured site plan approval, variances and entitlements for some of the largest projects in the state, coordinating the efforts of engineers, planners, architects, traffic experts and environmental consultants. He has a specialty in applications to construct wireless communications facilities and has represented national wireless carriers and tower owners in over 500 zoning applications in over 130 municipalities, including many contested applications.  Richard also litigates land use and real estate cases. In addition to handling prerogative writ matters and commercial disputes involving real estate, he secured a unanimous decision from the New Jersey Supreme Court on behalf of the Township of West Orange in the State’s seminal condemnation case, Township of West Orange v. 769 Associates, LLC, 172 N.J. 564 (2002). Richard has been selected for inclusion on the 2012-2015 New Jersey SuperLawyers lists.

The second seminar (1 hour, 1 NJ CLE credit) will be on Ethics 101: An Update.  Joel J. Reinfeld, Esq. , will be focusing on a refresher of basic RPC Rules and how they apply in every day situations.  The presentation will include recent Ethics Opinions. Joel has been a lawyer in Bergen County since 1983. He concentrates his practice on commercial transactions, commercial and residential real estate, as well as all types of civil and matrimonial litigation in both New Jersey and New York. He also handles a varierty of the criminal and municipal court matters. Prior to re-starting his own firm, Mr. Reinfeld was a partner in Fischer Porter Thomas & Reinfeld of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Mr. Reinfeld was also employed as the President of the Title Insurance Division of Valley National Bank. He has been a past Chairman of the District IIA Fee Arbitration Committee, which encompasses Northern Bergen County as well as member of the District IIA Ethics Committee. Mr. Reinfeld is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a magna cum laude graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law where he taught a course on legal writing; was a Member and Editor of the Law Review; and published an article. After law school, Mr. Reinfeld served as the first law clerk to United States District Judge George P. Kazen of the Southern District of Texas in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Reinfeld is a Memeber of the Bars of five (5) states, including New York and New Jersey. He is also actively involved with the University of Pennsylvania and Syracuse University Clubs of Northern New Jersey.
