Marla Carroll, Winemaker
A California native, Marla grew up in the mountains separating the Southern California High Desert and the rich agricultural lands of the Central Valley. Marla received a Biotechnology degree from UC Davis with a concentration in Enology & Fermentation Science. In 2004, Marla accepted a position with Franciscan Estate, spending seven years in a series of roles, including Enologist and Assistant Winemaker. After some time off with her family, Marla reunited with the Franciscan Estate team in 2013.

Their heritage is rich with fabled names – including Agustin Huneeus of Quintessa and Justin Meyer of Silver Oak Vineyards – and a deep, abiding passion for winemaking in the Old World tradition. On Saturday, February 13 – from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. – in one of our grand salons, The Adolphus is bringing you a taste of the famed and fabulous Napa Valley. This Valentine’s Day event – “In the Valley of Romance” – will feature Franciscan Estate winemaker Marla Carroll and wines from Franciscan Estate and Mount Veeder. Marla, whose resume shows a depth of experience unrivaled among most winemakers, is a native Californian with a love for sharing her knowledge and expertise.
Taking his inspiration from the wine and food of Napa Valley, Adolphus Executive Chef Marcus Strietzel will prepare a magnificent repast paired with a hand-picked selection of Franciscan and Mount Veeder wines.

The price per person is just $135.00, inclusive of gratuity, tax, and event parking. For those wishing to spend the night, we are offering a couples’ rate of $129.00 for a Deluxe King or $169.00 for an Executive King.
