The Giving Board: Ways to Increase Gift Income Through Board Engagement

The best advancement programs find meaningful ways to involve Board members in development activities. This can range from hosting events, introducing new prospective major donors to your institution’s leaders, and participating in the solicitation process.  But as advancement leaders, we need to remember that Board members are also major gift donors and prospects, and need to be cultivated and recognized like all our other significant prospects. Rather than expecting and assuming that Board members should make annual, major, and planned gifts, we need to consistently build and nurture our relationships with our Board members to ensure they are feeling connected, active and engaged in the mission of your institution.

During this webinar by the Gonser Gerber Institute, we will share the best methods, strategies, and tactics to focus your Board members on their critical leadership role in the development process.  This webinar will unlock the potential of your Board to elevate your advancement program and will help your Board members feel engaged and enthusiastic about their service.

Topics we will cover include:

  • Creating Enthusiastic Board Members Focused on Development
  • Treating your Board Members Consistently Like Major Donor Prospects
  • The Role of a Board Member in Donor Identification
  • The Problem with a “Give or Get” Board
  • Cultivation Steps That are Easy and Natural
  • Setting Board Members Up for a Successful Solicitation
  • Establishing a Long-Term Culture of “The Giving Board”

Registration

The fee is $295 per institution, which allows your entire team the opportunity to participate in this professional development at the same time. If you are a current client of Gonser Gerber, that fee is just $145. You will also receive a copy of presentation and a recording of the webinar with your registration.
