THE FINANCIAL COACH TRAINING WORKSHOP

Online Training Modules

Session Starts: October 1, 2020

FINANCIAL COACHING is a collaborative, solution-focused, result-orientated, systematic, and strengths-based process in which the coach facilitates the enhancement of personal finance practice. Coaching is well suited to asset building programs because clients often need encouragement and support to adhere to positive financial behaviors.  Financial coaching: 1) focuses on improving long-term financial behavior, 2) facilitates clients to set and achieve financial goals largely on their own, 3) helps clients practice new behaviors and monitors those behaviors over time, and 4) targets clients with a minimum level of financial skills and experience. This program is designed for life coach certification.

Assessment strategies include exercises to examine the client’s unique money history and the impact of family of origin on perspectives on the value of money and decisions about spending and consumption. These are designed to contribute to self-understanding and help you better understand the patterns of your students and clients.  Further, the Life Values Profile provides awareness about how we are influenced by the social realities around us, and how they may be preventing us from living life and handling affairs according to our core values. The Readiness for Change assessment determines the stage of the coaching client and provides coaches with an understanding of how and when behaviors can be altered. The individual coaching conversation is aligned to this stage. The foundation coaching model proceeds through the Stages of Change. The GROW model augments this strategy, by designing the coaching session, language, and strategy in support of individual participant goals.
