CSI Paragould 2014

Crime Scene Evidence Collection & Analysis
For Youth -- Ages 12-15 

 

Solve several mysteries!  This class is designed for youth to learn about analyzing evidence from crime scenes. Paragould Police Department officers will speak to the class each day for one hour about real-life evidence collection and crime scene analysis.   Then, students will go to the science laboratory for two hours each day while the instructor leads them in several fun experiments to test various simulated pieces of evidence to solve mock crimes. For those who attended last year's CSI class, this is the next step -- analyzing the evidence! 

  Topics:

• Bloodstain Pattern Analysis
• Blood testing
• Gunshot Residue Test
• Soil Contamination
• Fingerprinting
• Testing stomach contents for starch, sugar, fat, and proteins

Police officers will spend one hour each morning with the group and then the youth will go to the science lab to conduct analyses of simulated samples of evidence.  

Parents -- This will be a fun-filled learning experience for your child!
