Company Secretarial Teaching Institute 

CSTI

We offer a number of different courses under our newly formed division namely; the Company Secretarial Teaching Institute. We aim to cater for a variety of needs in the market and also aim to attract new entrants to the company secretarial profession.

As in the past, we still see ourselves continuing with small group seminars, as it is the ideal time/place to get that hands-on one-on-one training and to ask those questions you never get to ask. We will also incorporate more focused and practical teaching.

We have a diversified offering trying to accomodate most attendees as follows:

 

Half Day Event

These events are aimed at existing company secretarial administrators who would just like to update their knowledge base with the latest on the processes, CIPC, CIPC website and company forms. Full Day Teaching Event

The aim of these events is to give existing administrators an in-depth teaching in specific processes. These will cover both close corporations as well as companies. The A-Z of Company Secretarial

BREAKING NEWS - Our program has been accredited by Monash University - you will now receive a Monash University competency Certificate!

This is an intensive 8 day training programme that culminate in a portfolio of evidence for which we issue a competency certificate on completion. During this course we focus in detail on the theory and practical application / processes of the CIPC. The practical takes place on your own PC with step by step tuition. Practice administration and best practice will also be covered. Programme will be presented at Black Eagle Guest House, in Ruimsig Roodepoort. During the course, attendees will receive the following:

  1. A detailed close corporation secretarial procedure manual
  2. A detailed company secretarial procedure manual
  3. Registration as a CIPC agent
  4. RICA registration if applicable
  5. Formation of your own company
  6. Pocket size book on the New Companies Act and Regulations
  7. CD with templates, letters and additional information

We have tried to accommodate full time and part time attendees as follows:

Option 1 - (Full time):

Two (2) weeks (9 consecutive days) of full time study or

Option 2 - (Part time):

One day twice a month for four and a half (4 1/2) months

Option 3 - (Part time - night classes): NEW NEW NEW!!!

Twice to four times a month for two and a half (2 1/2) months

About the presenters

Suzette qualified at RAU with a BCom Industrial Psychology degree. After spending some years in the corporate world, she joined Martin in his practice. She has been actively involved with Cipro changes and registrations for the last 8 years in a practice environment. 

 

Martin Barnard obtained his BCompt Accounting from RAU and his Honours from UNISA. After he qualified as a CA(SA) he also joined the IRBA and completed a certificate programme in Trust Law at the University of Pretoria.

He was recently accredited as a B-BBEE verification agent through the IRBA after completing UNISA’s Graduate School of Business Leadership’s B-BBEE Management Development Programme.

He is the Chairman of SAICA's West Rand District and also the Chairman of SAICA's Northern District Tax Committee and also serves on SAICA's Northern Region Council. He is a CA and Registered Auditor. He has been in private practice for the last 12 years and understands the frustrations and daily challenges of the Auditing, Accounting and Small Business sectors.

Terms and conditions  

  1. No shows on the day of the event will be charged 100% of the course price. A substitute delegate is welcome at no extra cost. 
  2. Delegates may transfer their registration to another event, once at no charge - provided we are informed at least 5 working days before the event. For last minute transfers or transfers made inside of the 5 working days, a late transfer fee of 20% will be charged.  
  3. You may cancel your registration, in writing, up to 7 working days before the event takes place, incurring a 10% administration cost. Cancellations made inside of the 7 days will be liable for the full fee.  
  4. Unfortunately, no refund can be given to delegates who do not attend without giving prior notice.  
  5. B Square reserves the right to cancel the event, change the speaker or to change the venue.  
  6. Please note, once your registration form is received, you will be issued with a tax invoice. Payment, or proof thereof or an order number must be received the day before the event.  
  7. Should you have any specific dietary requirements, there could be an additional charge levied by the venue.  
  8. If you do not receive communication - outlining participation details - after registration, please contact B Square immediately.
