Join us for the 32nd annual Utah Geographic Information Council conference in Swiss Adventure Land in Midway, UT!  From seasoned GIS professionals to new and upcoming students, this conference will provide an opportunity to grow your GIS knowledge base and expand your networking reach. Geospatial experts will hold workshops and presentations that are guaranteed to elevate individual GIS cognition in our rapidly changing field. The event  is packed full of great presentations, workshops, vendors and opportunities to advance your GIS skills and learn from other GIS Professionals.

The event will be held at the Zermatt Resort and Hotel Located in downtown Midway near the Midway Crater.  This exciting UGIC destination will provide plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking and viewing scenic vistas! Register now!

Lodging Information:

Lodging is open now - We have secured a discounted rates at the Zermatt Resort and Hotel where the conference will be.  Please click HERE to book your room for the hotel with the conference rate.

Individuals are encouraged to use the link above to receive the discounted rate. The rate is good until the end of the conference, so please make your reservations before the conference in order to receive the conference rate. 

Meals at the Conference:

Pre-Conference Training Meals: Lunch and breaks are included in the pre-conference training prices for full-day workshops.

Conference Meals:  Lunch and breaks (morning/afternoon) are included Wednesday through Friday. In addition, a vendor social on Wednesday evening with appetizers/finger food, and a barbeque dinner at the Heber Creeper Depot on Thursday evening are included with registration.

Conference Swag:

This year, instead of the traditional shirt, the conference swag will be ............ a Mystery! We think you will love the surprise we have planned, but you MUST BE PRESENT to receive it.  PLEASE NOTE that only full-conference attendees will be eligible to receive the surprise swag (Pre-Conference-Only or Single Day Registrations will not be eligible).

Student Scholarships: 

Every year, UGIC awards 2 scholarships for students in Utah to attend the annual conference. All current students are eligible to apply, so if you are a student we encourage you to submit an application!  More information can be found HERE.

Call For Papers: 

UGIC  is now accepting abstract submissions for for breakout presentations at the 2023!  

We are proud of the excellent work being done by geospatial professionals in Utah. The UGIC Conference provides an excellent venue to tell your story and share your work. Your content doesn’t have to be ground breaking work and you don’t have to be a polished presenter.  This is a conference of laid-back geo-geeks happy to be away from their office for a few days.

The strength of our grassroots GIS organization is found in users helping users as we all become better at what we do. We would like to hear from a variety of colleagues: public and private sectors, tribal, federal, state, and local governments, educators, managers, innovators, beginners, students, experts, and everywhere in between. We want to hear from YOU!  Submit an Abstract!

Getting to the Zermatt Resort in Midway: 

To Midway from the Salt Lake Valley and Points North:

From I-15, take exit 304 for Cheyenne/Interstate 80 Eastbound. Go east on I-80 for 20 miles, and take exit 146 for US-40/189 toward Heber/Vernal.  Drive southeast on US-40/189 for approximately 12.8 miles to River Rd. Take a right on River Rd (Near Hwy 32).  At the traffic circle take the 2nd exit onto 1050 N.  Continue onto 350 W St/Pine Canyon Rd.  Slight Left onto Cari Ln.  Turn left onto Homestead Dr.  Turn right onto W 800 N/Bluff Rd/W Resort Dr.  Google the directions if you need more.

To Midway from Utah County and Points South:
From I-15 Northbound, take Orem exit 272, Orem 800 North/Hwy52. Follow 800 N north through Provo Canyon (Use the left lane to take the ramp onto US 189 N) approximately 17.1 miles to Midway. Take a left onto State Highway 113/3600 W.   Turn left onto W 100 S.  Turn right onto S 200 W.  Turn left at the 3rd cross street onto W 200 N.  Continue onto Homestead Dr.  Turn left onto W 800 N/Bluff Rd/W Resort Dr (Destination will be on the right).  Google the directions if you need more.

Vendor Setup: Tuesday, May 9th after 4:00 PM or Wednesday, May 10th anytime before 3:00 PM 

Vendor Tear-down:  Friday, May 12th anytime after 11:00 AM

Vendor Hours:

 Wednesday, May 10th, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM; Vendor Social 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

 Thursday, May 11th, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM

 Friday, May 12th, 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM
