2:00 p.m. - Negotiation Skills Seminar (3.0 PDH’s) - Speaker: Brian Pyle, Hallmark Cards, Inc.
Description: The product of a negotiation or dispute resolution isn’t a document, or even the agreement itself; it’s the value produced once the parties have done what they agreed to do. Negotiators who understand this principle prepare and negotiate differently than deal makers do. People who understand and believe in this principle also negotiate and resolve conflict differently, recognizing that value comes not from a verbal agreement, a handshake, or a document signature, but from real work performed long after the agreement has been reached. In this vein, the course will concentrate on values, beliefs, and behaviors that have been shown to reduce conflict, produce agreement for all sides, and maintain long-term relationships among the parties involved.
