Sisters of Life                                                     "Rooting Ourselves in the Love and Mercy of Jesus"

Each of us yearns to know that we are good, and that our life matters. In a world where our worth is so often measured by what we can do, produce, or achieve, Sister will speak on how we are first called to receive from God the unique and unrepeatable gift of ourselves; to “be”, before we “do”. Using personal testimony and stories of grace from their missions, Sister will explore how rooting ourselves in the love of Jesus, in His mercy, and in His personal, intimate, intentional choice of each of us has the power to not only transform our lives, but the lives of others.

The Sisters of Life are a contemplative/active Roman Catholic community of women religious, who profess the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. They were founded by Cardinal John O’Connor in New York in 1991. They currently serve in the [Arch]dioceses of New York, Bridgeport, Philadelphia, Denver, Washington, D.C., and Toronto, Canada.
.
The charism of the Sisters of Life: "To mother the mothers of the unborn; to mother the unborn; to mother all those who are frail, all of those who are vulnerable, all those who are ill, all of those who are in danger of being put to death, all those whose lives the world considers useless. Our Lord says to each Sister of Life, 'Woman, behold your son. Behold your daughter.'”
John Cardinal O’Connor
