The season of Advent means there is something on the horizon the like of which we have never seen before..." Jan L. Richardson, Night Vision: Searching the Shadows of Advent and Christmas
The Holiday season is a lot like life, only more so. December often means there is more to do, more to buy, more to decide and more to feel. Advent is one of the most meaningful seasons in the Christian calendar, but how do we faithfully balance it with all the other demands of the season? The scripture stories are filled with people listening for God’s call, and we are invited to do the same.
During this 5 hour mini-retreat, you'll have time to:
Reflect on your priorities;
Learn a new spiritual tool; and
Engage with the Advent stories.
Doug Wysockey-Johnson, Executive Director of Lumunos, will be our guest facilitator. For over 20 years Doug has been facilitating groups around the country and in many different settings. Doug is particularly gifted at helping a group deepen their sense of community while individuals within the group clarify their own priorities. Doug also writes frequently on matters of call, wellness and the spiritual life. He lives in Vermont with his wife and two children.
A light lunch of bread and soup will be provided. (Please register below so we can make sure we have enough.)
Suggested donation of $20.00 at the event.
"So, stay. Sit. Linger. Tarry. Ponder. Wait. Behold. Wonder. There will be time enough for running. For rushing. For worrying. For Pushing. For now, stay. Wait..." Jan L. Richardson
