University of Virginia Health System Pegasus Ufly Program
Pegasus Air & Ground provides emergency and critical care transport services throughout Virginia. We believe collaboration is the key to success and invite healthcare professionals (emergency services providers, nurses, and physicians) interested in critical care transport to spend a day with our team.
Eligibility
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be working for an EMS agency or hospital in the Pegasus Air & Ground service area and have been in good standing with your agency for at least one year.
- If observing the flight team, must weigh less than 220lbs and have a waist size of fewer than 44 inches in order to fasten aircraft seatbelts securely.
Things to remember
- You must wear the provided UVA Pegasus Observer Vest during all phases of patient transport.
- A busy day with Pegasus may offer little to no time for meals drinks or snacks.
- You may also encounter turbulence, vibration, noise and extremes of hot and cold.
- If you have a medical condition that may make it hard for you to function in these conditions, please explain in the comments section of the application.
- UVA Pegasus reserves the right to request that ride along candidates provide a physician letter granting medical clearance to participate in the program.
