Training Summary:
Clinicians working in the field are not always trained on how to work with some of our most difficult populations.  These clients might be your most difficult, most frustrating, or hardest to understand why they are the way that they are.  This session will focus on working with those with Borderline Personality Disorder. The presenter will focus on best practices, tips and techniques for BPD, and helping participants feel like they are making a difference with those who struggle with this diagnosis.

Presenter:

Debbie Smith, M.Ed., LCPC, is a therapist at BZA Behavioral Health.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University in 1999 and her Master’s degree in community counseling from Loyola University in 2002.  She has been working in the behavioral health field in McHenry County for the past 18 years. The emphasis of her work has been providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to adults and adolescents and training therapists on working with Borderline Personality Disorder.
