Coordination of the Building Enclosure is critical to designing and constructing high-performance, resilient structures. The risk of failure is high if the details are not coordinated, and the responsibility for coordination is often unclear. To start the coordination discussion, many frims in the industry have begun hosting "Preconstruction Meetings" or "Building Enclosure Coordination Meetings" to bring together all the experience and expertise of the design and construction teams to coordinate and finalize the details.
BEC Indiana believes hosting this meeting is best practice and is excited to announce the release of our "Building Enclosure Coordination (BEC) Meeting Guide" as a tool for our local industry. This technical presentation will discuss why coordination of the building enclosure is important and will conclude with a detailed review and explanation of the BEC Meeting Guide.
