Greater Boston is facing a literacy crisis. Nearly 70% of students in our area are not reading at grade level by the end of third grade. Literacy is the vehicle to other learning, and yet far too many children lack the fundamental skills to learn.
Now in our 28th year of service, Generations Incorporated works to improve the literacy skills of young students by engaging community-based volunteers to light a spark within each child.
Our event will highlight stories of success from our students as well as community older adults serving as literacy coaches in Boston and Revere.
Join us to explore our important role in placing youth on the path to lifelong academic success.
This cocktail event will also feature live entertainment and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Business or cocktail attire is recommended.
