Thank you for your interest in Family Transition Place's (FTP's) Parent Workshop, held in partnership with the Orangeville Public Library.

This workshop is designed for parents, with a focus on examining a child's in-school relationships. Workshop activities and discussions will address the following topics:

  • The characteristics of healthy and unhealthy in-school relationships
  • Viewing school bullying as a relationship issue
  • How to support your child in dealing with unhealthy relationships by:
    • Helping your child become more assertive
    • Teaching your child healthy emotional self-regulation strategies
    • Assisting your child in building their own feelings of self-worth
  • Ways to discuss relationship issues with school personnel

The workshop is designed to be engaging and will contain interactive activities, videos and the opportunity for questions and discussion throughout the evening.

Orangeville Public Library health and safety protocols must be followed to attend this workshop.

We want to ensure that they are making a difference, and will ask our workshop participants to complete a brief online survey to be sent out after the workshop.

IMPORTANT: If you receive a message that this workshop is full, please contact Sabina Iurillo at sabina@familytransitionplace.ca) for information on future groups.

Sincerely,

The Youth Education Team
