An estimated 2.3 million workers, or 65% of the industry, work on scaffolds frequently. Protecting workers from scaffold-related accidents can prevent 4,500 injuries and 50 deaths every year.
In a recent BLS study, seventy-two percent of workers injured in scaffold accidents attributed the accident to the planking or support giving way, or to the employee slipping or being struck by a falling object. Any of these accidents can be controlled by compliance with OSHA standards. This course is designed to provide the Scaffold Competent Person / Inspector with the knowledge and understanding to perform Competent Person duties and inspections. This course covers topics under OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Sub-part L – Scaffolds.
