Topic: San Marcos Creek District Infrastructure Project
Speaker: Matt Brash, PE | Parsons
The San Marcos Creek District Infrastructure Project proposes to build the following improvements in the City of San Marcos adjacent San Marcos Creek:
- Construct 2 Bridges for Via Vera Cruz and Bent Ave crossing over San Marcos Creek (approximately 500 ft long each)
- Widen Via Vera Cruz and Discovery St from 2 lanes to 4 lanes
- Construct a Levee along Discovery St
- Construct 76 acres of wetland mitigation
- Construct Promenade Park (Linear Park and Trail System on the North and South Side of the Creek)
The project is currently being advertised for construction with the bid opening in the middle of May and construction starting in late summer/early fall. Construction is anticipated to last 2 years.
Matt Brash is a Project Manager for Parsons. Parsons was the design consultant to the City of San Marcos for the project along with the multidisciplinary team of subconsultants. Matt graduated from San Diego State in 2007 and is a Registered PE in California.
