THE DORIC ORDER 

This fast-paced course provides an introduction to one of the oldest and most fundamental forms in architecture -- the Doric Order.  Students will study the moldings and proportions of the Doric Order by laying out a column, entablature, and pediment (don't worry, you'll know those terms before the class is done). The class will conclude by combining these elements into an architectural composition.

Learn why the study of the Orders is an essential foundation in the study of architecture and gain the ability to apply the classical orders to contemporary design challenges beyond just the dutiful copying of historic elements.
