The Georgia Brownfield Association's Coastal Committee is hosting a “Brownfields for Bankers” lunch presentation and discussion.
One of Georgia’s most powerful economic tools is the state’s brownfield law, providing protections and incentives to prospective purchasers of environmentally impacted properties. Since the inception of the program in 2003, more than 460 cleanups have been completed, returning properties with valuable infrastructure in important corridors to productive use. Lenders play a critical role in this significant economic development opportunity for Georgia’s communities.
This program will inform lenders and others on the opportunities of investing in brownfields, dispel myths on such redevelopments, and provide an opportunity for discussion on how the program works.
