8th Annual CMH Heroes for Hospice 5K/10K

Online registration is closed, but you can still register in person at the CMH Community Rooms this Friday, noon to 6 p.m. or on Saturday morning starting at 7 a.m.

Registration is open for the Saturday, June 26, Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation’s Heroes for Hospice 5K/10K Run presented by Craig Lehman-Shelter Insurance. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. and will be electronically timed for accuracy.

Both courses will begin in front of the CMH Community Rooms and will conclude with a loop around Dunnegan Memorial Park. Medals will be awarded to overall male and female in both races, first place male and female winners in each age division and oldest and youngest “hero.”

Early bird registration is $25 per person ($15 youth 12 and under) on or before June 11 and includes a T-shirt. Registration after June 11 is $30 per person ($15 youth 12 and under) and does not include a T-shirt. Runners can also register the day of the event until 8 a.m. On-line registration closes June 20. New this year is the option to be a virtual runner for only $25. The option is perfect for those who still want to support the event, get a T-shirt, but can't make it on race day. Participants can run/walk anywhere and anytime. All ages and levels of physical activity are encouraged to attend.  Walkers, strollers and pets are welcome!

We love furry friends! We have CMH pet bandanas you can order for $10! Order yours under the T-shirt section!

CMH Hospice caregivers strive to help patients remain as comfortable as possible at home, or in a homelike setting, with family and friends. The program also provides support to the family after a death of their loved one through a bereavement program. Proceeds from the race will provide donations in our area to ensure that physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement care is given to all terminally ill patients and their families.

Early event check-in is encouraged on Friday, June 25 in the CMH Community Rooms. Times will be announced. Participants picking up event packets on race day should be at the Community Rooms between 7 - 8 a.m. for check-in. Cooperation in arriving early for packet pick-up and registration is appreciated. Restrooms will be available for participants. The course will close at 10:15 a.m. We do not recommend walkers on the 10K route. Race shirts will not be held or available after the event concludes for a small donation.
