Join LMASE Columbia for our lunch program on Wednesday, July 8th.

Speaker and consultant Karen Shearer Dunn will examine a topic that is widely discussed within the business community: men and women working together. Karen will present on gender communication in the workplace.

About the Speaker:

Karen Shearer Dunn: Karen holds a M.A. degree in Communication from Ohio State University and is in her 22nd year on the faculty of Queens University of Charlotte where she teaches in the Organizational and Relational Communication programs. She is a two-time recipient of the Fuqua Distinguished Educator Award and the Outstanding Professor Award. She has worked as a senior account executive at some of the world's largest advertising agencies, specifically Leo Burnett & Co. on the McDonalds account and as an instructional designer/trainer for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago. Professor Dunn has consulted and provided training for many organizations including: IBM, Wachovia, Coca-Cola, Motorola, the U.S. Postal Service, the State of North Carolina, Philip Morris and many others. She is a contributing author of the book, Sex, Gender and Jobs. She does research, consulting, and speaking in gender, intercultural nonverbal and cross-generational communication.
