Race Trail Leatherleaf Bog (3.2 miles) 2 laps
Dates Saturday - 9/7, 10/5, 11/2 and 12/2 (dates subject to change)

The Race Trail Description
All four races will be held at Moraine Hills State Park in McHenry, IL.
The first race on 9/7 and the third race on 11/2 will consist of 2 laps on the 3.2miles Leatherleaf Bog Trail for a total of 6.4 miles. The Leather Bog trail is one-directional and surfaced with crushed limestone and paved on the hills. The trail will swerve in and out of marshland and up and down kettle moraines, near natural lakes, prairies, bogs and over wooded hills, which will provide a challenging and interesting test for the skiers for the upcoming winter. Pneumatic tires are strongly recommended in these races.
The second race on 10/5 and the forth race on 12/2 will be 2 point-to-point laps on the 1.70 mile paved River Road Trail for a total of 6.8 miles. The River Trail will also be used if needed due to bad weather and the Leatherleaf is unusable.
Series Scoring & Awards
Overall season champions will be named in each class at the conclusion of the season. Points will be awarded based upon placing in each event as shown in the table below. Each competitor’s three best races will be counted towards the season total. The individuals with the highest three event point totals will be declared the series winner and will receive a special award. You must complete at least three events to be eligible for the series award; two races if race three and four are canceled.

Liability/Insurance Waiver
Competitors shall be responsible for adequate insurance of participants. All participants must be appropriately insured against injuries, illness or possible damage of material. The race organizing committee, Moraine Hills State Park, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin Biathlon Association, sponsors or volunteers, shall be liable for personal and material damage. All competitors must sign a waiver and release of liability before the race.
