Volunteers are the Heart of Alexandria

Every year, Volunteer Alexandria recognizes those who serve their community at the Volunteers are the Heart of Alexandria. We recognize volunteers nominated by the community for their outstanding service. Honoring those who are the heart and soul of our City is the highlight of this event. There are five awards categories: a Youth Volunteer Service, Joan White Grassroots Volunteer, the Marian Van Landingham Lifetime Achievement, an Emergency Preparedness Volunteer Award and a RSVP award. Additionally, we highlight every youth volunteer who has served 100 hours and adult volunteers who have served 150 hours.
