Lunch & Learn

Lunch and Learn is for anyone managing and working with volunteers. It is an informal session to discuss topics that matter to YOU! Each session will last approximately 45 minutes and will provide an opportunity for peers from different agencies to meet and share their skills and expertise. Feel free to bring your lunch.

September 18 topic "How to polish your volunteer opportunity description or the fear of leaving something out" facilitated by Barb Winters, award winning author of Letters to Virginia, editor and journalist.

Feel free to bring your current volunteer descriptions/posts.

Due to limited space, we ask that organizations send only one representative.

About Barb: Barb has been writing stories since she was in 6th grade but it wasn’t until she was a senior in high school that she got paid for them by reporting for the local newspaper. Many years later she was handed six boxes of personal letters describing the conditions and life during the Civil War and she decided they needed to be told. Her book Letters to Virginia won the Alexandria Historical Society Award in 2011. Barb is an award winning author and editor and is still volunteering to help others become stronger writers.
