Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Annual Swim Around Key West, a 12.5-mile endurance swim clockwise around the entire island of Key West. This is the 36th swimming of our event, started by founder Anna Fugina in 1977. That first swim took 12 hours, 59 minutes; today's record is 3:31:28 set by Gabe Lindsey in 1999. The Annual Swim Around Key West is an independent and insured swim, permitted by the U.S. Coast Guard.
We have three categories:
Solo Swimmer (12.5 miles): $140 before Feb. 1, 2012
Two-Person Relay (6 miles each, consecutively): $250 before Feb. 1, 2012
Three-Person Relay (4 miles each, consecutively): $325 before Feb. 1, 2012
Add $10 to each category after Feb. 1, and add $20 to each category after April 15. The deadline for all applications to be recieved is May 18, 2012.
Each Category will be capped at the following numbers:
Solo Swimmer: 85
Two-Person Relay: 10 teams
Three-Person Relay: 25 teams
Pre-race registration will take place on Friday, June 22, from 3:00 - 5:45 p.m. at the Lexington Hotel, 3850 N. Roosevelt Blvd., Key West. Please plan to attend a mandatory pre-race meeting at 6 p.m. following registration.
