The purpose of this group is to provide exposure to talking across people, settings, and activites. Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, the interactive games and trick 'r treating at this event will provide a fun atmosphere in which your child can practice stepping out of their comfort zone with therapeutic support. There will be two pretend neighborhoods to practice trick or treating, game tables for interactive peer-to-peer exposure, karaoke, and a dog to pet! Children are encouraged to wear their costumes!
Drop Off: 2:30pm at the first floor main entrance lobby of ATSA.
Pick Up: 4:00pm also at the first floor main entrance lobby.
Social Exposures Group is not a long-term commitment; you can select the events you would like your child to attend. The group is innovative and useful for children with situation-specific symptoms that are the hallmark of selective mutism and/or social anxiety. With this group, ATSA Therapists can take your child to the next level of exposure by being in the community with your child and treating symptoms in-vivo in a group setting. Read more on our website.
