Dr. Kathryn Weedman Arthur:

Black Heritage Landscapes: St. Pete 1868-1930

Join us on Thursday, January 13th as the Museum of History and UPC Insurance welcomes Dr. Kathryn Weedman Arthur and her presentation on "Black Heritage Landscapes: St. Pete 1868-1930."

This digital story is Dr. Arthur's contribution to the African American Burial Grounds and Remembering Project funded by the University of South Florida and recounts history of Black residents from the period of Reconstruction into the Progressive Era. Dr. Arthur will discuss the skilled employment, household ownership, military service, education and religion of St. Pete's 1868-1930 Black community.

Please note that seating is no longer pre-assigned, so if you have specfic seating preferences, you should arrive at 6PM in order to select it. We will have placecards that you can write your name on to save your chosen seat while you chat and wait for wine.      

Presented by UPC Insurance, Happy Hour with the Historian is frequently sold out, so reservations are required. Admission without a reservation cannot be guaranteed. Reservations close the day of the event.  

Doors open at 6pm. Program begins at 6:30pm.
