The Municipal Leadership Institute will provide you with the training you need to solve and plan for problems that impact you & your municipality before they arise. Presentations by area experts will be given on timely issues that confront today’s local elected officials. Exhibits will open at 10:30 a.m. on October 4. This unique showcase will offer an excellent opportunity for vendors & municipal officials to meet. Plan to connect with exhibitors and discover valuable tools for solutions to problems as well as innovative ideas for future planning.
This Institute has been approved for six (6) Basic, Advanced or Emeritus hours in the Certified Municipal Official Program. 0.5 of the 6 approved hours meet core curriculum requirements. If you have already taken the core courses that will be offered at the Institute, duplicate core hours will not be awarded. Any municipal official or municipal personnel may register for the Institute, but only elected officials will be awarded credit hours in the CMO Program.
Topics Include: Community Engagement and Community Engagement Roundtable Discussions, Youth Councils and Your Municipality, The Public Purpose Doctrine, Grant Writing, Public Records (Core Elective– 0.5 credit hour) and Electronic Records Retention

The League’s CMO graduation ceremony for those who have earned their Basic, Advanced, and Emeritus CMO designations will also be held during the Leadership Institute. Payment and Registration are required to attend MLI.
