Kevin will be talking about some current trends in law enforcement. He will be discussing body cameras and phone scams. He is not going to limit the discussion so you can ask about the recent events with people overdosing. He will not comment on New Haven because he was not directly involved but this is a national problem and he has experienced it firsthand.
Speaker: Police Chief - Kevin J. Hale
Chief Kevin J. Hale was hired as a police officer in February 1990, and was sworn in as the Chief of the Ansonia Police Department on October 23, 2000. He graduated from the 206th Session of the FBI National Academy on September 7, 2001. He holds both an Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Chief Hale is a past president of the New England Association of Chiefs of Police, serving from 2013-2014. He is also a past president of the Connecticut Police Chief’s Association, having served from 2007 to 2008.
Chief Hale has served as the Director of Emergency Management for the City of Ansonia since 2011. In this role he is responsible for Ansonia’s preparation for and response to emergencies. Chief Hale is currently an Associate Faculty member of Post University, teaching courses in Criminal Justice since 2011.
He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police as well as the FBI National Academy Associates. He also belongs to the American Society for Industrial Security.
Chief Hale and his wife Carrie have been married for thirty-one years and have four children.
