PAL/PPSM Mental Health Care Training
Psychiatric Assistance Line and Pregnancy & Postpartum Support MN partner to provide all day training!
The PAL team will present in the morning from 8am-12pm on the following:
- Overview of the Psychiatric Consultation Service and the importance of early identification of mental illness.
- Psychopharmacology (Stimulants, SSRI's, SGA's, and Mood Stabilizers)
- Evidence-based psychotherapy (TF-CBT)
- Community Referrals and collaborative care models
The PPSM team will present in the afternoon from 1pm-5pm on the following:
- Risks and Benefits of pharmocologic treatment versus no treatment.
- Resources for medication questions in pregnancy and lactation.
- Treatments in Pregnancy (Supplements, Non-pharmacological, SSRIs, Mood Stabilizers, Atypical Antipsychotics, Sleep, and Anxiety)
- Treatments in Lactation
- Understand perinatal mental health complications including: antenatal/postpartum depression, anxiety, ocd and psychosis.
- Risk factors, symptoms, and assessment.
- Evidence based therapeutic interventions.
When you register, you will have the option to attend the Morning OR Afternoon session ($100) or for the Full Day ($150).
*There will be a free lunch available in between sessions from 12pm-1pm if you choose to have a lunch provided for you on the registration form.
