Working with our area mission partners we have secured over seventeen different sites in Rochester, Pontiac and Detroit (see the list below). While most sites are now filled, there truly is something for everyone and all ability levels! Most serve projects will begin at 9:00AM and conclude no later than 12:00PM. Prayer Team
Prayer team members will be at each site to pray over the workers, families, and those who are being served as our work teams conquer tasks at hand. Some team members will gather in our St. John Chapel to pray in the same manner and include praying for our neighborhoods, communities and for Jesus’ love for them to shine through the work of our volunteers. Resident Home Repair - Pontiac
This group will be scraping and painting a garage of a resident affiliated with St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac. Appropriate for ages 10 and up. Site Leader: Gordon Carr
Clean Up & Home Repairs - Charity Lutheran Church Area, Detroit
This group will go to the campus of Charity Lutheran Church in Detroit to assist with outdoor clean-up (3 homes) and home repairs (1 home) at the Hope Houses located within the street block of Charity. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leaders: Lee Althoff & Dietmar Hansen
Facility Painting - Family of God, Detroit
This group has the privilege of continuing work at Family of God by painting the basement renovation (sponsored by St. John) that will allow after school tutoring and adult education to happen in this facility. Appropriate for ages 10 and up. Site Leader: Matt Wallace
Homebound Visitation - FILLED
This group will make a difference in Jesus’ name by making encouraging visits at local assisted living communities. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leader: Henry Meyer
Neighbor Yard Clean Up - Rochester - FILLED
Multiple teams will be going out to assigned Rochester resident homes to assist with yard clean up. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leader: Scott Wetzel
Yard Clean Up - Rochester Neighborhood House - FRIDAY, MAY 3 - FILLED
This group will go out Friday, May 3 to Rochester Neighborhood House Clothing Store to assist in general yard clean up. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leader: Doree Cook
Facility Painting - Crossroads Care Center (Crossroads Pregnancy Center) - FILLED
This group will go to Crossroads Care Center to assist with indoor painting. Appropriate for all ages 10 and up. Site Leaders: Bob & Ann Danielson
Facility Painting & Clean Up - St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac - FILLED
This group will go to the St. Paul Lutheran Church facility to assist with some outdoor clean up and indoor painting. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leaders: Pastor Jon & Sue Trinklein
Park Clean Up & Neighborhood BBQ - Pontiac (Phase 2) - FILLED
This group will assist with continued effort of restoring Mattie McKinley Park and sharing a BBQ lunch with the neighborhood. This serve event also coincides with the Pontiac Community Foundation city wide park clean up day. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leader: Melissa Hammett
Clean Up/Fix Up - Elli’s House, (A Human Trafficking Rescue Home), Detroit - FILLED
This group will assist with spring cleaning at Elli's House. Elli's House provides temporary shelter for runaway, homeless or young girls involved in sex trafficking in the city of Detroit, with family reunification as their primary goal. We will be doing outdoor yard work and fix up projects at this home. Appropriate for adults. Site Leader: Pastor Dan Meckes
Pack Up/Exterior Beautification - St. John Lutheran Church & School, Rochester - FILLED
This group with assist with the packing of our school supplies and rooms or help with the landscape update to our facility. Detailed instruction will come with this serve opportunity. Appropriate for all ages. Site Leaders: Mike Wilusz & Brian Nowakowski
