20th ANNUAL PRESIDENTS‘ CIRCLE EVENT
presents Holly Mitchell, Los Angeles County Supervisor
Thursday, March 11, 2021 • 5:30-7:00 pm on Zoom
"What's Next? What will be the Feminist Agenda?"
Please join us to celebrate International Women’s Day, Women's History Month, and feminist politics everywhere!
Where there is injustice Holly speaks up and fights. That’s why in response to the #MeToo movement she became the vice chair of the Joint Legislative Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response. Mitchell came to politics after running the family advocacy agency Crystal Stairs. With a strong history of backing criminal justice reform, she served as chair of the powerful state Senate budget committee.
Some of Holly’s proudest accomplishments include the #EqualityandJustice package of criminal justice reform bills, transitional housing placement for foster youth to help prevent youth homelessness, and extended access to mental health care services for our most vulnerable residents.
She’s also known for the CROWN Act, which prohibits discrimination against Black and brown people in workplaces and schools for wearing natural hairstyles. Several states have passed their own versions of it.
