We all know by now that refined sugar and carbohydrates contribute to all kinds of chronic disease and are often the primary reason that many struggle with weight loss. If we are going to avoid foods that cause us harm without depriving ourselves of the joy of eating, we must invent new ways to make “junk food” that is healthy. Luckily, there are already many professional chefs creating healthy versions of the old baked-goods standards. In this workshop, we will discuss methods of substituting healthy ingredients into our dessert foods without sacrificing taste, so that you can have your cake and eat it too!
Dr. Corrie’s Nutrition Workshops take place on the second floor of the Professional Building on Waterville’s Main Street. Tea and homemade paleo-style snacks are served throughout the workshop, along with opportunities to sample any foods being used as education examples. Handouts and pens will also be provided. Registration is strongly encouraged in order to secure a seat (or seats for friends/family) in the workshop. Dr. Corrie’s Nutrition Workshops are provided free of charge as a service to the local community to promote understanding of the importance of clean nutrition for preventing and healing chronic disease. These workshops are open to all who want to attend.
