All about Smoothies: Learn the best techniques and ingredients for packing a whole lot of nutrients into a glass
During the hot days of summer, food is often the last thing we want to think about, until we’re starving and head for the junk food cabinet. Summertime is a great time for smoothies because there is a lot of fresh, local produce available, cold meals are very appealing and we often don’t have an appetite for a full meal anyway. Dr. Corrie will bring her favorite kitchen tool, the Vitamix, and a selection of ingredients for a variety of smoothies. We will explore and taste smoothies for getting the day started, getting your greens in, getting fruits and veggies into kids, and replacing nutrients post-workout.
Dr. Corrie’s Nutrition Workshops take place on the second floor of the Professional Building on Waterville’s Main Street. Tea and homemade paleo-style snacks are served throughout the workshop, along with opportunities to sample any foods being used as education examples. Handouts and pens will also be provided. Registration is strongly encouraged in order to secure a seat (or seats for friends/family) in the workshop. Dr. Corrie’s Nutrition Workshops are provided free of charge as a service to the local community to promote understanding of the importance of clean nutrition for preventing and healing chronic disease. These workshops are open to all who want to attend.
